Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke coachbuilding unit, has designed a unique keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the brand. Made of Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying “B” paperweight, a set keys and a brochure that features never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

It is the perfect gift to welcome a new bentley key owner to their opulent vehicle.

    Aesthetics

Bentley is a firm that takes its aesthetics very seriously. It’s evident in the precise location of its quilting the choice of leather sourced from cattle by-products, the wood from sustainably managed forests and the innovative patterns on its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you drive by, displaying its sculptural beauty and power through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is Bentley’s most sophisticated open-top car. Its rear tonneau, for example, showcased the biggest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley is the most sought-after automobile brand globally due to its distinctive design and workmanship. The company continues to push the boundaries with the latest technologies and craftsmanship. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear window sunroof and a crafted Apple iPad docking station.

A century after its founding, Bentley – now under sole Volkswagen ownership after years of conflict with BMW – celebrated its centenary in the year 2019. The marque planned a series of special events and launches to celebrate the milestone event before pandemic planning became a priority.

    Design

Bentley is known as a premium car manufacturer that produces extravagant and luxurious vehicles. However, even the keys are a statement. The Bentayga key is made from sterling silver. It features a large ‘B’ logo that lets everyone know you’re a Bentley. It’s also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019, to commemorate the company’s centenary.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and developed by bentley replacement key fob Mulliner to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats are designed to give passengers the most comfortable and private experience. They were inspired by the luxurious private aircraft. The unique heating and ventilation system as well as the air conditioning system was designed to give every passenger the perfect climate control setting.

In addition to a suite of elegantly executed styling revisions, the Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine capable of producing 560bhp and 479lb-ft of torque. This prodigious power is complemented by a brand new suspension system that provides Bentley’s trademark hushed ride.

Bentley has released a special specification for cars manufactured after 2019 to celebrate its centennial. It is known as the Centenary Specification. This includes cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests seats, the interior and other areas of the car. This makes it more fun to celebrate. The Centenary Specification also includes a custom Bentley keycase, completing the Bentley experience.

    Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key comes with a button that opens the trunk, as well as a button that turns on the car. It also has a switch that can turn on the parking break. There is a knob that can fold and unfold the mirrors when parking in tight spaces. This feature makes it easier to get in and out of your car.

The key is constructed from vegetable tanned leather. It takes over two days to create each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched, sealed, and then polished to produce a premium result. It is small and sturdy and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to that of the Volkswagen Phaeton large car’s key, but it feels much heavier and has a premium feel.

Secure-A-Key is also included to help prevent keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob and stops it after a couple of minutes of inactivity. This prevents thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices that could unlock and start the vehicle.

bentley keys‘s distinctive design reflects the values of the company which include exquisite craftsmanship and engineering expertise as well as cutting-edge technology. The headquarters in Crewe house more than 4000 employees responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley vehicles. These workers apply the skills that have been passed through generations to current automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its best.

    Personalisation

Bentley’s bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own vehicle. The “mood station” allows guests to select images that inspire them. They can choose anything from stunning views to sporting events. As each selection is made, a pattern emerges that reveals the design and color preferences for the customized Bentley.

The guests receive the keys in a case designed by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key bentley cards. Keys can be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the opening door with the owner’s name or logo as they approach the vehicle.

Bentley claims it takes about 500 man-hours to craft and put together the typical Mulsanne. The inability to adopt modern technology is the main factor to this lengthy and laborious process. Instead of making use of a machine to space the perfectly-matched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Drivers must park their vehicles manually, rather than using the built-in sensors to guide them into perpendicular and paralell spots.

The event also saw Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization options with a special example – the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays tribute to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars include keys that display a piece of the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
