Upgrades can be expensive especially for weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade path each step up in level of the item could cost several Valorstones and crests. The total costs can be very prohibitive for players who don’t have the resources or are unwilling to grind them.

The game allows you to play a reroll of an upgraded item with a special tool in the menu of items. This option replaces the upgraded item with a level 1 version that offers different bonus effects. Recycled items will not keep their status or the amount of resources needed to upgrade them.

The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item’s tier as well as its quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded to levels of nine, whereas common items are only upgraded up to level six. Item upgrades are added to the item’s base statistics, meaning that they won’t increase after a certain amount.
