World of Warcraft – Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp’d for their unique stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren’t worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Some weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. This bonus could be greater than the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon’s capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is usually beneficial however, it could have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are very lucky.
The ability to upgrade armor items to boost their stats. This will increase the defense base of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain after upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn’t mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the Best item upgrade menu with the circling arrows. This will reroll the item and change its stats, but it won’t reset the weapon’s level or bind to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the more health you will get from each point. Therefore, it’s a good idea to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you’ve completed the primary side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain, you can then contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. In general, you’ll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a handful of friends.
It isn’t possible to upgrade armor like weapons. If you’re playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally, you’ll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you’ll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is beneficial to have a few improvements to the helmets and chest armor that let you stealthy battle certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, provide a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades changes depending on what type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item level upgrade‘s Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Select “Upgrade” from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to select the potions that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.
Once a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle within which it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For example splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item upgrades). The table of potion now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be mixed in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion, and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions is arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn’t important such as a thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens, or fragments from rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl of the older one, and have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they’re no longer needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that won’t replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). Players should also consider their class’s preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still less expensive than buying a new one.
